MARJORIE C. (MANINGER)

Age 98, of Upper St. Clair, peacefully passed away, on Thursday, June 26, 2025, with her family by her side. Beloved wife of the late John W. Bjerklie. Loving mother of David M. (Cindy), Kirsten A. (Paul) Fitzgerald, Ellen Bjerklie (Scott) Hanna and the late John J.E. (Poogy); grandmother of Isaac Bjerklie, Conor Fitzgerald, Brian Fitzgerald and the late Weber John Bjerklie; great-grandmother of Wren and Ewan Fitzgerald; step-grandmother of Danielle (Patrick) McMahon; great-step-grandmother of Lydia and Ian McMahon; sister of Retta Thompson, Loren Maninger, the late Carrol "Cappy" Maninger, Earlene Beale, Dale Maninger and Phyllis Barrett; devoted daughter of the late Earl and Mabel Maninger. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. As a child, Marjorie moved from Kansas to California, where she played the violin and played at the Golden Gate International Exhibition in 1939 in San Francisco California. Marjorie received her Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from UCLA. She planned on joining the diplomatic corps in Washington D.C. but then instead got engaged to her beloved husband, John. She began her life with her husband in California and they moved around the United States until ultimately ending in Pittsburgh. Marjorie was a life-long gardener and loved to cook. Throughout her life her main focus was always her family, being the best mother and wife she could be. She also served additional roles in her life as an accountant and a librarian, which she enjoyed very much. She was a long-time member at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Marjorie will be remembered for her caring nature, generous heart, beauty both inside and out and most of all love for her family. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Since Marjorie was a Breast Cancer Survivor, memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Awareness, www.komen.org. Please add or view tributes at:
