MARJORIE "MARJIE" BROWN

Marjorie "Marjie" Brown Heins, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on Monday, September 15, 2025, at the age of 75, leaving behind a legacy of love, devotion, and warmth. Born on June 25, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Jean Gilfillan Brown.

Marjie is survived by her devoted husband of 51 years, Roger Heins, her college sweetheart, whom she married on May 25, 1974, at Mt. Lebanon Presbyterian Church in Mt. Lebanon, PA. Together, they shared a passion for life, including cherished wine trips to the West Coast and family vacations to Ocean City, NJ -- a tradition Marjie proudly upheld every year since she was six weeks old.

Her greatest joy was her children and grandchildren, who affectionately called her "MeMe": Rachel Carlson (Matt) and their children, John and Margaret; Diane Heins and her daughter, Anastasia; and Nathanael Heins (Michelle) and their sons, Alexander and Andrew.

She is also survived by her siblings, Thomas Brown (Martha), Kenneth Brown (Franny), Douglas Brown, and Polly Fiske (Doug), along with many Brown and Gilfillan cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

A dedicated educator, Marjie taught for many years at Montessori, Ft. Couch Middle School, and Upper St. Clair High School, where she inspired her students with passion and cared for them as if they were her own children. She also volunteered with Upper St. Clair Young Life, joyfully sharing her love for Christ with young people.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Marjie's life at a memorial service held at St. Clair Country Club on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. followed by a light reception.
