MARLENE McKINNEY

Marlene McKinney Gollinger, age 87, originally of Munhall, passed away peacefully Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Robert A. Gollinger; loving mother of Terri Gollinger (Jim Kenkel), Lori (Jay) Stauffer and Rob (Tammy) Gollinger; proud Nana of Julie (John) Yates, Tim (Sarah) Kenkel, Marie and John Stauffer, Dylan, Carson and Caelyn Gollinger. Daughter of the late Charles J. and Eleanor R. McKinney. She was the loving sister of the late Charles R. 'Ray' (Louise) McKinney of Munhall and the late William 'Billy' (Helene) McKinney of Texas; she is also survived by a host of cherished great-grandchildren, relatives, friends and neighbors, especially Jenny and A'Aysha Molina, her loving caregivers and those at South Hills Square, where she lived with her husband Bob for the last four years.

After graduating from Homestead High School in 1957, Marlene worked at Westinghouse Bettis Plant until she married Bob in 1958. While she raised, as she said, "her three perfect kids," she ran bingos in Munhall and Homestead and worked at Hills.

Marlene always saw the glass as half full, if not overflowing. Her selfless dedication to her kids meant she was always there for them throughout their lives. The multi-talented Marlene made annual Kennywood outfits for her kids; made dolls and endless accessories for her grandkids; drew cartoons on lunch bags that were traded for goodies; and was a regular participant with her husband, Bob, in local craft shows selling their painted wooden creations. Her creativity culminated in her book, "Marlene's Memories." She is still waiting for Oprah to call to go on tour.
