MARY CATHERINE "SALLY"

Mary Catherine "Sally" (Burke) James, 85, died April 2, 2024 in San Antonio. Originally from Pittsburgh, Sally was born December 22, 1938. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 58 years, Ronald T. James; her brother (Richard Burke) and sister, (Barbara Balach).

Sally graduated from Cathedral High School in 1956, and still met regularly with some of the women in her class while she lived in Pittsburgh. Sally is survived by her three children, Thomas (Becky), Kathleen Hartle (Cliff), and Ronald M (Teri); seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Sally worked as an administrator for more than 30 years at HFC, and then after retirement, she worked at Pittsburgh Limousine and PTI until her second retirement at age 62. She and Ron then volunteered at EECM's soup kitchen, and the STEM office of the Carnegie Science Center.

Sally was a woman of great faith, and was very active at Church of the Ascension, Oakland. During her recent years in San Antonio, she continued to find great joy in worship, singing hymns, and Bible readings.

Her funeral service will be held at Church of the Ascension, Oakland, on Saturday, May 11th at 2:00pm.
