MARY KATHLEEN "KATHY" (ADLEY)
Age 78, of Upper St. Clair, formerly of Lake Latonka and Mt. Lebanon, peacefully passed away in her sleep on November 27, 2025, with her loving husband by her side. Born on August 6, 1947, she was the cherished daughter of the late Robert and Aileen (Parrish) Adley. Kathy was the devoted wife of Richard Marks; beloved mother of Frank (Laura) Marks; and adoring Nana to her granddaughter, Makenna Marks. She is also survived by her siblings, Diane (Francis) O'Malley, Aileen Adley, Bob Adley, Daniel (Joan) Adley, and Michael (Lisa) Adley.
Kathy lived a life defined by service, compassion, and quiet strength. A 1965 graduate of Canevin High School, she began her path of care and dedication at the Pittsburgh Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1968. She completed additional anesthesia certification at St. Francis Hospital, ultimately fulfilling her calling as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). Kathy initially worked at St. Clair Hospital, later retiring from Magee-Women's Hospital, and she continued serving patients at the Butler Hospital Surgery Center at Benbrook until Parkinson's disease ended her professional journey.
She and her husband, Richard, exemplified the true meaning of marriage, love, and partnership, having just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with the same devotion that carried them throughout their life together. Above all, Kathy was deeply dedicated to her family and her world revolved around her beloved Makenna, who brought her immeasurable joy.
Despite the physical challenges of Parkinson's disease, Kathy never yielded to despair. She worked tirelessly with the Parkinson's Foundation of Western Pennsylvania (PFWPA), leading fundraising efforts and supporting research with unwavering determination. Through every struggle, she pushed forward with grace, resilience, and an unshakeable love for the people around her.
Kathy was an extraordinary woman, one who led by example, cared fiercely, and touched countless lives through kindness, empathy, and steadfast faith. God has gained a fierce and beautiful angel by His side.
