MARY LOU

Of Allison Park, PA, passed away on May 18, 2026. Born on November 24, 1935, to Joseph and Jessie (Wolfe) Street in Masontown, WV. Mary Lou leaves an amazing legacy. She attended West Virginia University and graduated in 1961 with a degree in home economics. It is there she met her lifelong love, William Henry English. They were married on September 11, 1959. Mary Lou managed a busy family as they moved around over the years, from Pgh. to Delaware, OH; then to Milwaukee, WI; back to Pgh.; then to Spartanburg, SC; and finally back home again to Pgh. Along the way, she had three children whom she loved with all of her heart.

In addition to managing the household, Mary Lou held several jobs outside of the home, including work as a teacher's aide, librarian, and secretary. Mary Lou loved to cook and sew and do crafts of all sorts, and she adored children and cared for others as if they were her own. She was a loyal and faithful member of Northmont Presbyterian Church, spending many days volunteering her time to various charitable causes, most notably Meals on Wheels, Northside Common Ministries, and Northmont Delivers.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, William Henry; her children, Karen Sue (Joerg) Kohler, William John (Cheryl) English, and Robert Frank (Trudy) English; her grandchildren, Brian English, Marisa Jefferson, Emilie Kohler, Grace, Will, and Annie English; her great-grandchildren, Emerson and Elise Jefferson; step-grandchildren, Beth Santaguida and Melody Miller; and step-great-grandchildren, Owen, Juliet, and Daphne Santaguida and Judah, Elias, and Micah Miller. She is also survived by a sister, Molly Lipscomb (Art) of Kingwood, WV; and brother, Joseph Street of Masontown, WV; along with several nieces and nephews who loved her deeply and will miss her dearly.

Friends received Wednesday from 6-8 pm and Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at SIMONS FUNERAL HOME, INC., 7720 Perry Highway. The funeral service will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m., at Northmont United Presbyterian Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Presbyterian Women/Northmont Delivers, Northmont United Presbyterian Church, 8169 Perry Hwy., Pgh., PA 15237.
