MARY LOU

A lifelong parishioner of St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church (Blessed Trinity 2020) in Carrick, where she also graduated high school. Wife of 58 years to the late Albert Gurcak. Loving mother of daughters, Gail (Larry Wallace) Dwyer of Pittsburgh and Gwen (William) Zeiler of Finleyville, PA. Grandmother to Alan (Alyssa) and Diana Zeiler of Pittsburgh and Stephen and Timothy (Kathryn) Dwyer of Fairplay, Colorado. Sister of Ruth (Galya) and the late Joseph Boehm; aunt of many nieces and nephews; and great-grandmother to Faith and Axel.
Mary Lou was a terrific cook, baker and seamstress and her hospitality was second to none. She was also devoted to her Catholic faith and was a longtime member of the Women's Guild/Christian Mothers at St. Wendelin. Her friends will remember her as kind, funny (unintentionally) and a straight shooter. Mary Lou retired from being a draftsman at Bell Telephone/Verizon in 1994. We could go on and on about Mary Lou but as she would say .... "I hate to brag."
