Mary Lou Shick, age 85, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at her Ingram home. Born Mary Louise (Lou) Scott on February 27, 1941, she graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in Elementary Education. She taught Elementary School, Sunday School, Pre-school, and piano for many years. She was also an Al-Anon sponsor for several people. She touched many lives and was loved by so many!
She married Richard H. Shick on June 25, 1964. Mary Lou's pride and joy was her family. She was preceded in death by her husband; and was the loving mother of Robert (Aline) Shick, Mary Ellen Thomas and Richard A. Shick; beloved grandmother of Christopher (Eliza Tadley) Rice, Victoria Rice, Ryan (Sarah Laane) Shick and Amanda Shick; sister of Susan (Steve) Young; sister-in-law of Carol (Doug) Whitney and Mary Kay Shick.
She enjoyed baking, especially Christmas cookies. She also enjoyed her Hawthorne Church family and she loved playing word games and card games with her friends and family.
Arrangements entrusted to HERSHBERGER-STOVER INC. FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 170 Noble Avenue, Crafton. Private inurnment will be with her husband, in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. A memorial service is being planned.
