MARY MARGARET (MADDEN)

Mary Margaret (Madden) Taylor, age 91 of Brookline, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 22, 2026, at Friendship Village in Upper St. Clair. She was born on March 17, 1935, in Pittsburgh. She was the daughter of the late Jerome and Margaret (Cain) Madden. As the daughter of an Irish Catholic family, she delighted in telling others that her family always claimed the city's Saint Patrick's Day parade was held especially for her.

She was the loving mother of Michael (Janet) Taylor, Mary Elizabeth Wagner and the late Timothy Taylor; devoted grandmother of Jimmy (Kelly) Taylor and Michael Wagner; proud great-grandmother of Grace and Patrick Taylor, Alexis and Brett Wagner. Also survived by her former daughter-in-law, Karen Weinheimer.

She is survived by her sister, Sr. Joanne Madden of Scranton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Jerome Madden, Sr. Elizabeth Ann Madden, Isabell Duffy, Patrick Madden and Leo Madden, whose wife, Johnetta, survives. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Margaret attended St. Mary of the Mount High School and Mercy School of Nursing. She dedicated more than 40 years of service as a registered nurse at Mercy Hospital as a staff nurse educator and cared for countless patients throughout her career.

Margaret enjoyed traveling and especially cherished her family trips to Holden Beach, where she even went parasailing several times. Margaret also found great joy in attending her grandchildren's sporting events and celebrating their accomplishments.

The family extends its sincere gratitude to the caring staff of Friendship Village and Gallagher Hospice Team for their compassion, support and exceptional care.

Private funeral arrangements are entrusted to WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE, Scott Twp. (412-563-2800).
