MSGT ROBERT W. "SARGE"

Age 93, of Penn Hills, passed with his loved ones by his side on Friday, April 10, 2026. Beloved husband of Dorothy V. (Lake) Patton; loving father of Rebecca (Michael) Straley, Robert (Lizzi) Patton, Rodney (Deborah) Patton, and the late Ronald Patton and Rodger Patton; grandfather of Kristel, Jonathan, Eric, Julia, Robert, Christine, Kaitlyn, and Jesse; great-grandfather of ten; son of the late Andrew Patton and Margaret McGrail. Sarge was in the Boy Scouts and earned his Eagle Badge. Proud U.S. Marine Veteran for 30 years, through the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He earned the rank of Master Sergeant. Graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor's degree. Co-creator of the Penn Hills Charter and enjoyed paintball, skydiving, scuba diving, and mountain biking. Friends received Sunday, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., at SOXMAN FUNERAL HOMES, LTD., 7450 Saltsburg Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15235; where a funeral service will be held Monday, at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies with full military honors at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to VA Hospital HJ Heinz Campus, 1010 Delafield Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15215.
