NANCY

Nancy passed peacefully on April 1, 2026, at the age of 97, at Candle Light Cove in Easton, MD, with family by her side. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Nancy was born on September 23, 1928, in Pittsburgh, PA, growing up on a farm outside of Pittsburgh. She attended Sewickley Academy in Sewickley, PA and graduated from St. Margaret's School in VA and Wheaton College in MA. She taught kindergarten at Sewickley Academy for three years, until she met her husband, Francis H. "Pat" Collins, II and they married in 1954. Nancy was predeceased by her beloved husband, Pat; eldest son, Charles H. "Chip" Collins; and daughter through marriage, Margaret B. Collins. She is survived by her sons, Francis H. "Pat" Collins III (Belville, NC) and Edison C. "Eddie" Collins (Ellicott City, MD); her daughter through marriage, Alice Collins (Oxford, MD); five grandchildren and three grandchildren from a previous marriage; one great-grandchild and two great-grandchildren from a previous marriage; and three loved daughters-in-law, Annie, Sharon and Pam. She was a passionate gardener, who loved making beautiful flower arrangements and maintaining her gardens. Nancy lived a long healthy life, which she attributed to staying active, daily walks, and playing golf well into her nineties. She was an accomplished bridge player and loved her time with her field trial labradors. Nancy was a long-time member of Christ Church, the Harbor Club and Talbot Country Club. Her dedication and love for her family, community, church, friends and her total grace will be remembered by all who knew her. She will be truly missed. The family thanks the fine staff at Candle Light Cove, Talbot Hospice and home caregivers for their loving care as her health declined. A private service will be held at a later date.
