NANCY MARIE

After a long and courageous journey through Alzheimer's disease and dementia, Nancy Marie Palyo has been called home to her eternal rest. She has gone to rejoice once again, singing with Jesus and His angels. She passed peacefully today, surrounded by her devoted family who loved her beyond measure and walked faithfully beside her every step of the way.

Nancy Marie Palyo was born on April 3, 1938, in Duquesne, Pennsylvania, the beloved daughter of Andrew and Mary (Dubyak) Halter and the devoted wife of John "Jack" Palyo.

Nancy lived a remarkable life defined by faith, determination, generosity, and an unwavering love for family. Together, Nancy and Jack raised three children, and throughout her life she remained especially close to her daughter Diane and her husband Tim, as well as her cherished grandchildren, Axton and Tianna, who brought immeasurable joy to her heart.

From an early age, Nancy's extraordinary talents were evident. Chosen to receive voice lessons as a young girl, she went on to compete in singing competitions, earn leading roles in theatrical productions, and was even invited to audition for the Skyliners. Her beautiful voice would become one of the defining gifts of her life.

Nancy possessed a fierce competitive spirit and an incredible drive to succeed. She never stopped learning, growing, and challenging herself. From her early days working at Clover Farm to becoming President and Owner of Data Information, a highly successful market research company with locations in Century III Mall and Greentree, she built a career marked by determination and accomplishment. One of her greatest joys during those years was working alongside her daughter and best friend, Diane.

Nancy loved people deeply and expressed that love through extraordinary generosity. She delighted in giving, always finding ways to brighten the lives of others and make them feel special. Her kindness, compassion, and giving spirit touched countless lives.

Service to others was woven throughout her life. Over the years, she volunteered as a Girl Scout leader, Den Mother, Lions Club member, Chamber of Commerce member, and supporter of numerous community and political activities. Wherever there was an opportunity to help, she was there.

The family will never allow the final five and a half years of her life to define who she was. Yet those years powerfully exemplified the very qualities that defined her throughout her life: faith, determination, resilience, and an unwavering devotion to family.

In December 2020, Nancy was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and dementia. At the time, the family was told she likely had only weeks to live. Refusing to let her face that journey alone, her family made a commitment that would become one of the greatest acts of love they could give her. They moved back to Pittsburgh to care for her, resolved to keep her at home, surrounded by the people and memories she cherished most.

What was expected to be a matter of weeks became a remarkable journey spanning more than five years. Through every peak and valley, every challenge and every triumph, Nancy's daughter Diane faithfully stood by her side as her devoted caregiver. Day after day, year after year, she walked every step of that difficult road with a love, strength, and dedication that never wavered.

Supported by her family, a home was created filled with love, dignity, faith, and compassion. It was this unwavering devotion that helped sustain Nancy's spirit and nurtured her will to live through a battle that far exceeded every expectation. The extraordinary bond between mother and daughter became a powerful testament to the love of family and the strength that faith can provide.

Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John "Jack" Palyo; and her sister, Patricia Potoma (John).

She is survived by her brothers, Raymond Halter (Joyce) and Phillip Halter (Beth); her loving daughter, Diane Foster (Timothy); and her cherished grandchildren, Axton and Tianna Foster, who brought immeasurable joy and pride to her life. She also leaves behind many beloved relatives, friends, and members of the community whose lives were enriched by her kindness, generosity, faith, and friendship.

While Alzheimer's and dementia challenged her mind, they never diminished the strength of her faith, the love of her family, or the remarkable legacy she leaves behind. Her final years were not defined by illness, but by courage, perseverance, and the extraordinary love that surrounded her every day.

Above all else, Nancy's life was rooted in her sincere devotion to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her faith guided every aspect of her life and sustained her through every challenge. Nothing brought her greater joy than singing for the Lord. She served as a cantor, sang in church choirs, and shared her gift at countless Christian events throughout Western Pennsylvania.

Anyone who ever heard her sing never forgot it. Her voice had a way of touching hearts and lifting spirits. While those left behind will miss hearing that beautiful voice, there is comfort in knowing she is now singing gloriously in Heaven, praising the Lord she loved so faithfully throughout her life.

Nancy's legacy lives on through the family she loved, the friends she cherished, the community she served, and the faith she so beautifully exemplified. The world is a better place because she was here, and Heaven is richer because she has come home.

Funeral arrangements by BEINHAUER FUNERAL HOMES. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 28th, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at BEINHAUER-CONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 5120 W Library Ave., Bethel Park, PA 15102. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home, on Monday, June 29, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to everyone who offered prayers, support, encouragement, and acts of kindness throughout Nancy's journey. Your love and compassion will never be forgotten.
