A woman of many accomplishments, "Rusty" passed away on February 1, 2022, at the age of 95. The oldest child of John and Nancy Clarke, she graduated as the valedictorian from Carrick High School and attended the University of Pittsburgh on a scholarship. While a student, she worked for the U.S. Weather Service, helping to compile statistics that would help to determine the D-Day launch of World War II. She was active in the Tri Delta Sorority and graduated in 1947. She married Robert J. Carroll in 1948 and raised eight children while being an active volunteer. In 1967, she earned her Masters of Library Science and worked for both Carlow and Duquesne Universities. She served as a Ross Township Commissioner and volunteered for the North Park Evangelical Presbyterian Church. For approximately 20 years, she delved into genealogy and connected the Clarke and Carroll Families to relatives previously unknown. Rusty outlived her husband of 62 years, her daughter, Jean Carroll and her grandson, John Petrick. She is survived by seven children, 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Arrangements are handled by DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 806 Perry Highway, with visitation at noon on Sunday, February 6 with a service at 3:00PM in the funeral home. Masks required.
