NORMAN
Age 89, of Carnegie, PA, passed away peacefully in his home on Friday evening. Norman was born in June of 1937 in his grandparents' house in Spring Hills, PA. He was the only son of Michael J. and Stella M. Baehr. Norman has two sisters, Marge Wokley and Janet Brewer. Norman worked with his dad at Allegheny Auto Wreckers in North Side from the age of 10-37, over 25 years. He joined the Army in 1958, and when he got out, he married the love of his life, Carol Ketterer in 1960. They were married for over 60 years. Norman then started working at the Port Authority in December of 1969. He worked until he was 'out the door in 1994'. He is a 60-year member of Local 83. After retirement, Norm and Carol travelled to their places in Port Charlotte, FL and Youghiogheny Lake. Norm will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him, and remembered as "The Junk Man" with the Biggest heart!
Friends and family will be received Thursday, July 30, 2026, from 2-8 PM at WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE, 1650 Greentree Rd., Scott Twp. 15220, where a funeral service will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026, at 11:15 AM. Internment to follow at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
