PATRICIA CAROL (KRESS)

Patricia Carol (Kress) Santomo passed away in her sleep, just after dawn, on Friday, May 15, 2026, at the age of 84.

Pat was vivacious and deeply loved. Whether traveling locally to visit with friends or family, taking a trip overseas with her sisters or grandchildren, or opening her home to host, she found joy in the people and experiences around her. She loved her family and made time to care for what was important to each of them. She especially adored her grandchildren, who brought immense happiness to her life. Many memories were created on trips with Gaga and the grandchildren to Branson, Cooperstown, Key Largo, and Europe and on travels with her ski group to some of the best ski destinations in the country. At home, Pat was content to play board games like scrabble and gin rummy, Boggle, and crossword puzzles and patiently taught others how to play along unless she was about to lose. But perhaps the most favorite game she played was War with her grandchildren. Pat seldom lost her temper and she hardly ever raised her voice. Through her generous spirit, she provided opportunities to others that they may not have had.

She met the love of her life, Art, at Slippery Rock University while studying. Art's passion was baseball and football, though he chose a career in the hotel industry. Pat dedicated part of her life to teaching as a physical education teacher, prior to becoming a stay-at-home mother. Her passion for movement and athletics began at a young age, participating in basketball and gymnastics. She also enjoyed dancing and cheerleading, carrying her energetic spirit and enthusiasm throughout her life.

Preceding her in death are her husband, Arthur Santomo Sr.; her brother, Joseph J. Kress; her sister, Kathryn K. Graham; and her parents, Joseph and Margaret Kress.

Surviving her loss are her sons, Arthur (Missie) Santomo Jr., Steven (Lynn Singer) Santomo; siblings, Peggy Kress, Cindy (Bill) Safran, Glenn (Sheila) Kress and Betty Kress; grandchildren, Alex Santomo, Ashley (Randy) Brann, Arthur (Abigail) Santomo III and Ashton Santomo; and her great-grandchildren, James Randall "J.R." Brann and Jovie Brann.

All friends are welcome to join us at a gathering to honor her on Friday, May 22, 2026, at the PATRICK T. LANIGAN FUNERAL HOME, 700 Linden Avenue, East Pittsburgh, PA 15112.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

There will be a brief service at All Saints Braddock Catholic Cemetery Chapel, on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., followed immediately by a lunch reception at Grandview Golf Course. All are welcome.
