PATRICIA (DARLING)
Age 100, of Friendship Village, Upper St. Clair, died peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on April 28, 2025.
Patricia was the beloved wife of 65 years to the late Keith "Skeeter" Melton, who preceded her in 2014; loving mother of Steven (the late Mary) Melton, of Bridgeville, PA, Scott (Angela) Melton, of Moon Township, PA, and Nancy (David) Sheperd, of Hudson, OH; devoted grandmother of Katie (David) Kramer, of Columbus, OH, Lindsey Sheperd, of New York City, NY, Thomas Sheperd, of Tremont, OH, Conner (Kaci) McBride of South Fayette, PA, Natalie Melton of Harrisburg, PA, Rachael Melton of Moon Township, PA, and Shannon (Teddy Swift) Melton, of Lawrenceville, PA; great-grandchildren, Ellie Kramer, "Sis" Kramer, Robby McBride and David Alexander McBride; dear sister of the late Douglas (the late Patricia) Darling. Pat was also preceded in death by her loving parents, Lewis and Marjorie (Watson) Darling.
Pat and Keith married in Keith's senior year of college. After a series of transfers to Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, they ultimately settled back home in Pittsburgh in 1964. They made their home in Upper St. Clair. Pat and Keith were longtime members of Chartiers Country Club in Rosslyn Farms, where they enjoyed golfing together nearly every Sunday afternoon. In 2007, Keith and Pat moved to Friendship Village, where they knew many residents and quickly developed a rich network of wonderful new friends.
She met and married the man of her dreams, and together, they raised a wonderful family and traveled the world together. She rode camels in front of the Great Pyramids, went parasailing in the Gulf of Mexico, traversed the fiords of Norway, and visited the all the countries of Europe. She went white water rafting in her 70s. Her smile and unbridled enthusiasm could light up a room and bring joy to all that met her.
