PAULINE TOMKO
Pauline, age 101, of O'Hara, passed away peacefully, on Friday, March 27, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born on January 28, 1925, to the late George and Anna (Yanak) Tomko in South Oakland.
She is survived by her three children, Paul (Monica) Iurlano of O'Hara, Caroline (Tom) Pantone of Shaler and Tom (Kathy) Iurlano of O'Hara; her beloved grandchildren, Francesca and Tommy; and most special nephew, Wayne Ferens; as well as many nieces, nephews, family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Anne Ferens and Margaret Tomko; and her husband, Anthony "Duke" Iurlano.
Pauline was proud of her Byzantine Catholic faith and Croatian nationality. She faithfully went to the Annual Pilgrimage at Mount Saint Macrina for the Sisters of St. Basil since 1934. She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph's Church in O'Hara, and a volunteer at the church, St. Margaret Hospital, and a member of the local AARP group. Pauline travelled the world, Italy and Egypt being her favorite, and loved to share memories from her travels. Pauline was blessed with her health and sharp mind her whole life.
Friends will be received at JOHN A. FREYVOGEL SONS INC., 4900 Centre Avenue at Devonshire Street, on Monday, March 30, 2026, from 2-7 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at 10 A.M., at St. Paul Cathedral in Oakland.
