PHYLLIS ELLA (KARAVLAN)
Fell asleep in The Lord on this day.
Phyllis Esau, beloved wife for 56 years of William Esau. A loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by sons, Stephen, Kevin (Susan); grandchildren, Aleksei, Kodi and Oksana. Along with siblings, Nancy (Joe) Mell and Harry (Judy) Karavlan. And many nieces, nephews.
Predeceased by her parents, Philip Karavlan, wife Ella (Brutz) Karavlan; brothers, John, Philip Karavlan; and sister, Florence (Karavlan) Sismour.
Phyllis' ever present smile, lovely blue eyes and her kind words will be greatly missed by all.
She attended John Morrow Grade School, Oliver High School graduating with high honors, and Geneva College in Beaver Falls.
She was an administrative assistant at US Steel in Pittsburgh along with many years as school secretary for the North Allegheny School District, Hosack Elementary, Marshal Middle School, and Peebles Elementary.
Her many talents were loving to cook, crochet, puzzles, and playing poker with friends.
Her many travails throughout her life never really dampened her gracious spirit.
May her memory be eternal.
Family and friends are welcome on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 806 Perry Hwy., North Hills. Funeral Service Saturday 10 a.m. at St. Alexander Nevsky Orthodox Cathedral.
