RALPH JON

Ralph Jon Egerman, a beloved Pittsburgh businessman, mentor, community leader and friend, passed away on June 18, 2026, surrounded by the love of those who cherished him most. Born on August 21, 1949, Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, William and Geraldine Goessler Egerman and his brother, Lester Eugene Egerman. He is survived by his lifelong beloved companion, Dr. Ronna Greenberg; his sister and brother-in-law, Sally and Frank Donnelly of Richmond, Virginia; his nieces, Cortney Kosmack and Connie Mattox; five great nephews; and countless friends, colleagues, mentees and community members whose lives were deeply enriched by knowing him. For more than four decades, Ralph devoted himself to the commercial real estate industry, becoming one of Pittsburgh's most respected brokers. He spent the last 25 years of his distinguished career with Colliers, where he was known not only for his expertise but also for his integrity and unwavering commitment to his clients and colleagues. In 2025, he was honored with the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors Lifetime Achievement Award, a fitting recognition of a career defined by excellence, leadership, and service. Beyond brokerage, Ralph was a passionate investor who believed deeply in Pittsburgh's future. He invested in and championed commercial properties throughout the Centre Avenue corridor, East End, Strip District, and North Shore. His greatest professional joy came from helping Pittsburgh grow and thrive because he loved the city and its people. His commitment to service extended well beyond business. Ralph generously gave his time and leadership to numerous organizations, serving on boards that included Parent and Child Guidance Center, FamilyLinks, Animal Friends, UpstreamPgh, the Greater Pittsburgh Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, The Rivers Club, Pittsburgh Commercial Real Estate, and the Board of Trustees of the Episcopal Diocese of Pittsburgh. Through these organizations, he worked tirelessly to improve the lives of others and strengthen the city he loved. Those closest to Ralph know that his life's true purpose was love. He found immense joy in gathering friends for lunch or dinner, sharing stories, offering encouragement, and mentoring young people. He possessed a rare generosity of spirit and genuinely delighted in helping others succeed. Ralph was a courageous man who stood by his family and friends no matter the circumstance. As he valiantly battled ALS, a disease which he refused to define him, Ralph's steadfast belief in the Lord sustained and comforted him. His faith remained a constant source of strength and hope, and it inspired all who witnessed his grace and courage. Throughout it all, he never lost his beautiful smile – a smile that could light up a room, put others at ease, and remind them they were valued and loved. A memorial service will be held on September 5, 2026 at 11am at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 5801 Hampton Street, Highland Park, PA 15206.
