Ralph L. Ruffennach, age 95, of McMurray, PA, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2025. Born in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Florence and Mary (Tobias) Ruffennach. He was a graduate of St.Wendelin High School, and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Carnegie Tech (now Carnegie Mellon University) and a master's degree from the University of Pittsburgh. Ralph devoted his professional life to engineering, spending his career at the Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory.



He was married to his first wife, Amelia (Hermanowski), until her passing. He is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn Raimondi. He is also survived by daughter, Carol Catsos (late Nicholas Catsos); son, Mark Ruffennach; daughter, Susan Braun (Tony Sargo), David Ruffennach; stepson, Ronald Raimondi (Teresa Lynn); stepdaughter, Catherine Hamrick (Michael); as well as eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.



Ralph loved spending time with his family and was a lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He loved playing softball in the South Hills Senior Softball League, and also played touch football and volleyball. He remained active playing sports until his 88th year.



Visitation will be on Thursday, October 30, 2025, from 3-7 P.M. at BEINHAUER FUNERAL HOME, 2828 Washington Road in McMurray, PA. A funeral mass will be held at St. Benedict the Abbot Church, St. John XXIII Parish, 120 Abington Drive, McMurray, PA on Friday, October 31, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.



In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Little Sisters of the Poor in Pittsburgh, or the Parkinson's Foundation of Southwestern Pennsylvania.
