RAYMOND A.

Raymond A. Capo went to be with our Lord, at the age of 88, on July 23, 2025. A life-long resident of Pittsburgh, he graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in Business Administration. Ray worked for several companies over the years, retiring from the Brainard Strapping Div., Sharon Steel Corp. as a Sales Representative for a territory, which covered the Pittsburgh tri-state area in addition to New York. He received an award for Excellence in Salesmanship.

He was the son of Raymond and Cecelia (Gabinski) Capo; and brother of Gloria Capo (deceased). He will be greatly missed by his wife of 47 years, Janet; and his family. Ray was the father of Maria (Michael) Olivo, David (Debbie) Capo and Paul (Wendy) Capo; grandfather of Natalie, Joseph, Matthew and Alexander; and uncle to Diana (McSwigan) Capo.

Ray was an avid reader, one of his favorite subjects being military history. As a compliment to that interest, he became a collector of ancient coins and Civil War items for many years. He also enjoyed a historical reenactment hobby and attended some of their Colonial Rendezvous events. He enjoyed woodworking and made several pieces of furniture. During Covid Ray took up acrylic painting and produced several paintings.

Before moving to Providence Point Independent Living in 2014 from Venetia, PA, he and Janet attended the Peters Creek Baptist Church.

A private ceremony for the family will be held at JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME with Burial at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery.

A reception for friends and family will be held on August 16, 2025, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m., in the Chartiers Room at Providence Point, 500 Providence Point Blvd., Pittsburgh, PA 15243.
