REBECCA A. "BECKI"
Age 65, of Wilkins Twp., passed away peacefully, with her family at her side, on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at UPMC Presbyterian. Becki was born on October 20, 1960, and was daughter of the late William A. and Patricia (Weber) McCaffrey.
Becki was born and raised in Wilkinsburg, attending Saint James Catholic School and graduated from Wilkinsburg Senior High School in 1978. Becki was an extremely talented artist and won a scholarship to a Carnegie Mellon University Art Program for High Schoolers and attended classes on Saturdays at the Carnegie Museum of Art and History in Oakland. After graduation, she continued with classes at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. Becki's artistic flare showed up everywhere from drawing and sketching to gift wrapping, Christmas tree decorating (she changed themes and color schemes every year) and even dessert making, as she was our dessert queen for all family functions.
In her professional career, customer service became her forte. Her outstanding loyalty and dedication earned her many awards and significant personal satisfaction over the years. She most recently was on Chad Gregorini's State Farm team, where she was so happy and loved the team so much and looked forward to going to the office every day.
But customer service was simply an extension or manifestation of her kind and giving heart. Mr. Rogers famously said, "find the helpers." Well, that was Becki through and through, a helper. She helped people when they needed it in whatever way she was able, giving money, food, clothing, shelter, her time, her advice, her shoulder to cry on.
Becki loved her nephews and niece very much. She and our mother played significant roles for Cameron and Veronica in particular during their early years by providing "daycare" before they were of school age. Daycare included many art projects on the front porch, many photos, trips to Frick Park, and much love. Her nephew, Liam, shares her artistic talent. Although he works mainly in digital art and sketching, Becki helped expose Liam to some of the more traditional art mediums like painting.
Becki loved music, Celtic keepsakes, and dogs and animals of all kinds were her passions. She had many dogs in her life, but her dogs, Muffin and Sable, were her most precious furbabies.
Becki is survived by her sisters, Patti McCaffrey (Gary Britcher) and Barbara Shoemaker (Greg); nephews, Cameron Shoemaker (Emily Palombo) and Liam Shoemaker; and niece, Veronica Shoemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Daniel J. McCaffrey.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 27, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., at the WEDDELL-AJAK FUNERAL HOME, 100 Center Avenue, Aspinwall. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, April 28, 11:30 a.m. at the Regina Elena Club, 615 Main St., Sharpsburg. Entombment at All Saints Braddock Catholic Cemetery will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial contributions to Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh.
