RICHARD "DICK" J.

Age 90, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully, on March 8, 2026, at Longwood at Oakmont Retirement Community. Dick was preceded in death by his sons, John and Timothy. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Patricia; and their children, Richard (Cathy), Kathleen (Art Rowland), Dennis (Kathleen) and Kevin (Amy Kunkle). The great pride of his life was his 14 grandchildren, Jocelyn, Erin, Caroline, Tanner, Madeline, Louisa, Mara, Jackson, Aidan, Emma, Connor, Megan, Maren and Joshua; and great-grandchildren, Nellie, Finn and Theodore. Dick was also preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Mary; brothers, James, William, Patrick and Robert; and is survived by his sister, Marilyn; Geraldine (Jones) and Edward.

Dick was a successful businessman, founding Fitzgerald Associates, a Manufacturer's representative company for plumbing products in 1964 and retiring from the company in 1994. Dick was a hardworking salesman, who taught himself the plumbing business. If you ever see an ELKAY drinking fountain in a hospital, office building, or other commercial space in Western Pennsylvania, Dick was the one who sold it. He was a Board Member of Allegheny Valley Bank and spent his early retirement years volunteering at SCORE, a local non-profit focused on counseling entrepreneurs and small business startups in the Pittsburgh area. He was also very proud of an award he received from the Central Blood Bank in 2002, for donating in excess of 215 units of whole blood and 79 units to the apheresis program over many years.

Dick and Pat were also long-time members at Edgewood Country Club and were avid golfers (he has two holes-in-one on his resume), bowlers, and platform tennis players. He was also a devoted Pittsburgh sports fan, attending numerous significant moments in the City's sports history.

As per Dick's wishes, there will be no viewing.

Friends and family will be received on Sunday, March 22, 2026, from 10-11 A.M., followed by a brief memorial service at Longwood in Oakmont, 500 Route 909, Verona, PA.
