RICHARD HENRY

Age 87, of Ross Township, passed away on June 30, 2025.

Beloved husband of Rose M. Kreger; loving father of Kelley (George) Householder and Karey Moore; proud grandfather of Kevin (Annah) Householder, Kyle Householder, Molly Moore, and Mason Moore. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard H. and Margaret Kreger Sr.; his sister, Margaret "Pinky" Kreger; and his first wife, Judith Kreger.

A proud U.S. Navy veteran, Richard served from 1954 to 1958 as a radio operator aboard the USS Brownson (DD-868). He went on to work for UPS for over 30 years, where he was known for his skill in managing people-many of whom came to see him as a mentor and father figure.

Richard had an adventurous spirit and a deep love for travel, especially to his ancestral homeland of Ireland, which he visited 22 times. He also explored Germany, Switzerland, Lucerne, Amsterdam, and more. He was a proud member of both the Knights of Equity, Court Nine, and the Division 21 to AOH, Ancient Order of Hibernians.

A lifelong Steelers fan, Richard held season tickets since the 1970s. His heritage - German on his father's side and Irish/Scottish on his mother's - was a source of great pride. He enjoyed simple pleasures: a pint of Guinness, a shot of Tullamore Dew, and the company of friends.

Later in life, after lovingly caring for his ailing spouse, Richard found happiness again with Rose, his soul mate and partner, who had also endured the loss of a beloved spouse. Their love was a bright chapter of renewal and joy.

Friends will be received on Sunday, July 6, from 1:00-3:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM at SIMONS FUNERAL HOME, INC., 7720 Perry Highway. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. www.simonsfuneralhome.com.
