RICHARD L. "DICK"
Richard L. "Dick" Finley, of Wexford, PA, formerly of Brackenridge, PA, passed away unexpectedly on April 19, 2025, at the age of 78.
His passing leaves a tremendous void in the lives of those who had the privilege to know and love him. He was born to the late Frances and Howard Finley. Dick was the supportive and devoted husband of Carol (Vnuk) Finley, sharing 57 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a family and life full of laughter and beautiful memories. He was a caring and devoted father to Michael Finley (Gina DeRose) and Cristin (Finley) Zorman (Brian Zorman); and an incredible Papa to his cherished grandsons, Matthew and Jacob Zorman. He is survived by his sister, Donna Fogle; and sister-in-law, Peggy Naylor and many loved nieces and nephews
His family meant the world to him and he embraced every role; husband, father, and grandfather with joy, humility, and unconditional love.
Dick lived a life marked by integrity, strength of character, and genuine kindness. Social by nature and generous in spirit, Dick was the greatest of friends; loyal, dependable, and always ready with a good story or hearty laugh. He touched countless lives with his wisdom and quiet strength. People were drawn to his warmth, his easy going nature and his gift for conversation. He found great joy in the beauty of Longboat Key, FL, a place he deeply loved and enjoyed.
In addition to a rich and fulfilling personal life, he earned a B.S.B.A from Point Park University. Dick built a long and distinguished career as a respected senior executive. He served as Vice President at Williams and Company from 1966 to 1994, where he earned a reputation as a principled and visionary leader. He later retired as Senior Vice President of Allied Barton Security Services, serving from 1994 to 2007. Throughout his career, Dick was admired for his professionalism, intelligence and dedication to excellence.
Dick's commitment to making a difference extended far beyond the workplace. He was an active contributor to the Pittsburgh community generously giving his time, talents, and leadership to numerous boards and nonprofit organizations. His many contributions included serving on the Board of Directors for Catholic Charities, St. John's Hospital, Pittsburgh Mercy Health System, Point Park University, Denali Initiative, and the Allegheny YMCA. He also served as Chairman of the Board for Mercy Psychiatric Hospital, Mercy Providence Hospital, Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh and the Pittsburgh Mercy Health System, guiding these institutions with integrity, compassion, and vision.
