ROBERT "BO" MICHAEL

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert "Bo" Michael Roman, 74, of McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania, who left this world on July 19, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Surrounded by loved ones, Bo faced every challenge with remarkable strength and honorable spirit.

He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Marchell; his daughters, Chelsea (Shawn) Azen and Tori (Anthony) Rippole; five grandchildren, Avery, Addilynn, Alani, Tony, and Bo; brothers, Stanley (late Elaine) and David (Mary Ann); nieces, nephews, and many others who will forever cherish his life and the legacy he left behind.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Florence; and by his sister, Ursula Hamilton.

Bo grew up with a natural love for sports, and that passion became one of the brightest parts of his life. That love carried forward into fatherhood, where he poured his heart into coaching, not only his daughters but many others in their youth. Guiding them on the field and sharing the game he adored became one of his most meaningful roles. As time went on, he found a new love in bocce, bringing the same excitement and competitive spirit to every game he played. He was a proud member of the Kennedy Township Bocce League, where his camaraderie and love for the game carried on through his final days. The court was a place of purpose, and those who played beside him will forever remember the heart he brought to the field.

Bo's presence was truly larger than life as he was a legend on and off the field. His humor could fill a room, his laughter was unmistakable, and his ability to make people smile came naturally. He had a gift for lifting spirits, for turning ordinary moments into memories, and for making everyone around him feel seen and appreciated. He will forever be in our hearts.

Family and friends are welcome to the SZAL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 238 Helen Street, McKees Rocks on Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. where a Blessing Service will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.
