WITTIG
ROBERT C.
Robert took his final walk, at age 79, on Monday, February 9, 2026. He was the son of George Wittig and Evelyn (Tobin) Wittig Connelly. He regretted leaving his wife of 55 plus years, Mary Ann (Kicinski). She was and always will be his best friend. He will also miss his three children: Kimberly, Robert Jr. with Tara and Jeffrey with Erika. He equally misses his grandchildren: Kaden, Kyler, Cassidy, Sophia and Bryce. Robert was the eldest child in a large family: himself, George, Lawrence, James, Daniel, Margaret and Gregory. He had a loving group of sisters by marriage: Sharon, Lisa, Niki - and a brother, Lawrence. He earned a BA, MA, and MPA over the years, but overall, he was most proud of having been a stay-at-home, nurturing father during the 1970s and 1980s, when such a role was generally frowned upon. If asked, however, he would say that he placed family as his highest priority, living a life centered on love, commitment, and care. Friends and family are invited to attend Robert's funeral service at WOLFE MEMORIAL, LLC, 3600 Greensburg Pike, Pittsburgh, PA 15221, on Saturday, February 21, at 11:00 a.m. Burial in Penn Forest Natural Burial Park, Verona. In lieu of flowers, gifts in Robert's memory may be given to Partnership With Native Americans, 16415 Addison Road, Suite 200, Addison, TX 75001, www.nativepartnership.org Arrangements by NATURAL FUNERAL COMPANY, www.naturalfuneralcompany.com
