ROBERT JOHN

Of Shaler Township. On Sunday, October 5, 2025, Robert "Bob" John Straka passed away surrounded by family at Allegheny General Hospital at 88 years old.

Bob was born to Joseph and Theresa Straka in June 1937 in Pittsburgh, PA, where he spent his entire life. He worked at Northside Deposit Bank where he was beloved by many of his coworkers, until his retirement at age 60.

Outside of work, Bob was an avid sports fan, he enjoyed golfing and bowling with friends, and never missed a Steelers game. He coached his sons' baseball games and daughter's softball games, and attended all of his granddaughters' sporting events. Bob was both a loving grandfather and patient father figure to his granddaughters, Krista and Shannon, who revered him and lovingly called him "Pap Pap" and "Pippers." He also enjoyed playing with his dog, Penny, decorating his yard for the holidays, and feeding the local birds with his bird feeder.

Bob is survived by his wife Elaine; his sons, Robert, Jr., Michael, and Jeffrey; his daughter, Suzanne; his grandson, Brandon; and his granddaughters, Krista and Shannon.

Bob will be lovingly remembered for his sense of humor, bright smile, diligent record-keeping, and the love he had for his family.

Visitation Tuesday, October 7 at 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at NEELY FUNERAL HOME, 2208 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw, PA 15116. Blessing Service Wednesday, October 8 at 11 AM at Neely Funeral Home.
