ROBERT V. VAVRO, JR. Obituary
Age 64, formerly of Hazelwood, currently a resident of Cochranton, PA, passed away on August 25, 2022. Born of February 15, 1958 to Robert and Carolyn (O'Connor) Vavro. Bob was raised in Hazelwood and graduated from Central District Catholic High School. A member of the Carpenter's Union for 35 years. He worked 31 years in the City of Pittsburgh Construction Division of Public Works as Carpenter, Foreman, and Supervisor. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and skier. He loved to travel, visiting all 50 states and skiing throughout Europe. He enjoyed cooking and canning numerous jams and vegetables. Family and friends always came first with Bob. He never failed to lend a helping hand when needed. In addition, Bob enjoyed spending time with the two family dogs- Duke and Kitz. Husband of Lisa (Kunst) Vavro; son of Carolyn Vavro and the late Robert V. Vavro, Sr.; brother of John J. Vavro and James E. (Mary) Vavro; Uncle to Carolyn Vavro, Peter and Jay Barbor, and the late Tricia Lynn Vavro. Great Uncle to Sean Bane, Sheana and Julia McPaul. Bob will surely be missed by all. Family and friends received at the VEREB FUNERAL HOME, INC., (Formerly O'Connor's) 5106 Second Avenue, 15207, 412-521-8116 Monday and Tuesday, August 29th and 30th, 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, August 31st, at 10 AM at St. Paul Cathedral Parish-St. Rosalia Church, 411 Greenfield Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15207.
