CEJER
RONALD
Ronald Cejer passed away peacefully on January 8, 2026, at the age of 92, surrounded by loved ones. He is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, Rose Jablonski Cejer, and their daughters Caren Abercrombie, with Chuck McGowan; Victoria, husband Bruce Peterson, as well as their sons Kenneth, wife Lori; Christopher, wife Elizabeth and brother Robert, wife Ellie. Ronald was preceded in death by his sons Ronald (known affectionately as little Ronny) and Gregory.
Ron was a talented drummer and, at the age of 13, he played in a band at clubs due to a shortage of musicians still overseas from WWII. He continued to embrace music, specializing in Polkas, until starting his family.
After graduating from Cathedral of Latin High School, Class of 1951, Ron proudly served in the United States Army. Following his military service, he established his own manufacturing representative business in the metal forming industry. Due to his expertise, he was hired by OSHA, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, as an expert witness in industrial accident cases and elected to the American National Standards Institute committee to develop safety standards for the industry. He literally wrote the book on safe operation of metal forming machinery.
Recognizing a gap in safety controls, Ron and his two sons founded a business to design and build these essential safety systems, a venture he led for 34 years before retiring at age 90.
Ron loved his Polish heritage and enjoyed attending Polka dances and cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers, especially his favorite player, "dobre szynka" or good ham. His favorite Polka was "In Heaven There is No Beer,
That's Why We Drink it Here." He drank his share here.
He cherished time spent fishing at their cottage on Lake Erie, hosting family gatherings, and engaging in fun fishing contests with his grandchildren.
He was a devoted grandfather to six grandchildren: Paige, Autumn, fiancé Peter, Violet, husband Kevin, Brittany, fiancé Juan, Cole, and Acacia, and a great-grandfather to three: Zoey, William, and Cyrus.
His life was a testament to his unwavering Catholic faith, finding solace in prayer and community at St. Margaret Mary Church.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM on Sunday January 11th at COPELAND FUNERAL HOME, 981 Brodhead Rd., Moon Township, 15108. A Mass will take place on Monday, January 12th at 10 AM at St. Margaret Mary Church, 1 Parish Place, Moon Township 15108.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to Catholic Charities, 111 Boulevard of the Allies, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.
Ron will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his love of God and family, dedication to his work, and great sense of humor.
Most importantly his faith in Jesus Christ has secured his place in heaven, where we all look forward to meeting with him again one day.
