ROSE MARIE (SCHLOSSER)

Rose Marie (Schlosser) Michalowski age 86, of Shaler Township, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2025. Rose was born and raised in the Parkview area in O'Hara Township on May 20, 1939.

Survived by her children: Rich (Tracie) Michalowski, Renee Michalowski; her grandchildren: Amanda Perez, Lauren Perez, Sarah (Mike) Mlinek; her great-grandson, Malcolm and her siblings: Paul Schlosser and Thomas Schlosser, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents, Alfons and Mathilda Schlosser, her brother, Herbert Schlosser and her sister, Mary (Schlosser) Wagner; along with her husband, Richard S. Michalowski and later her beloved, Jack Frohnhofer.

Rose was very proud of her three granddaughters, who called her Brama. The time and energy that she gave them was truly admirable. She spent countless hours attending dance recitals and softball games. Not only did she provide so much love to them she also gave generously of her time, often taking them shopping. She was a constant presence and very involved with her family. She enjoyed late night phone calls with family and was a good listener and gave great advice. Holidays were her favorite which involved lots of food, gifts and laughter.

Rose worked at Kmart in Shaler for 26 years before retiring. What began as a part-time job to earn a little extra money for Christmas turned into many long years there and being the voice you'd hear announcing the blue light specials! She was an avid member of the polka society, attending polka dances weekly. Rose organized and planned countless polka bus trips bringing everyone together with her fun, warm personality. She also loved the casinos!

Rose was known for her striking blue eyes and signature red bee-hive hair, not to mention her love for anything animal print, the gaudier the better!

She will be greatly missed by her family and all who were lucky to know her.
