SAMUEL R.
Samuel R. Gruber, age 98, of McCandless Township, passed away on July 18, 2025.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Grace.
Son of the late Sam and Margaret Gruber.
Brother of the late Ed Gruber.
Survived by his children, James Gruber (Barbara), Thomas Gruber (Joanne) and Patricia Gruber.
Grandfather of April, Alyssa, Brian, Max and Sam.
He also has five great-grandchildren.
After serving in the U.S. Navy, Sam started a career in the Insurance industry. In 1963, he formed the Goodwin & Gruber Agency. Sam was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan and also spent many years as a youth baseball coach. His favorite pastime was golf. He was a longtime member of Wildwood Golf Club, where he made many friendships.
Visitation will be held Thursday, July 24, 2025, from 3-8 PM, at NEELY FUNERAL HOME, 2208 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw.
Funeral Service, Friday, July 25, 2025, at 11 AM, at the funeral home. Interment to be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Alzheimer's Association at alz.org.
