SANDRA "SANDY" MARSH Obituary

Mt. Lebanon - Age 67, of Mount Lebanon, passed away unexpectedly, on the morning of November 13, 2025. Beloved wife of Jerry; devoted mother of Chelsea (Bill Barone); and adoring grandmother of Nicholas and Henry. She leaves behind a family whose hearts are broken but forever shaped by her kindness, strength, and the deep love she offered so freely.

A lifelong resident of Mt. Lebanon, Sandy built a life grounded in warmth, grace, and generosity. She earned both her undergraduate and graduate degrees in business from Carnegie Mellon University, achievements she carried with pride throughout her life and career. Sandy spent many years at Mellon / Bank of New York before retiring and embracing new passions with her characteristic curiosity and enthusiasm.

After retirement, Sandy discovered a love of history and became an eager lifelong learner, taking several courses each semester through the University of Pittsburgh's Osher program. She cherished the joy of continuous learning and the meaningful connections she formed there.

Sandy was also a gifted and prolific painter. Her impressionist works—filled with light, color, and tenderness — are treasured pieces held by those who loved her. Each painting reflects the sensitivity, creativity, and warmth she carried into every part of her life.

Physical activity was another joyful part of Sandy's daily routine. She loved working out at the gym and could be found there nearly every day. Saturday mornings often found her running with the City of Bridges Run Club or lining up for local 5K races. Sandy pushed herself with determination, and she proudly collected her well-earned race "bling," each medal a testament to her spirit and perseverance.

To her husband Jerry, Sandy was a true partner: steady, loving, and deeply supportive. Their years together were filled with devotion, shared humor, and a bond that only strengthened with time.

She was a devoted mother to her beloved daughter and an adoring grandmother to her two beautiful, energetic grandsons. Sandy spent countless joyful hours crafting with them, reading, teaching, and turning ordinary moments into magical ones. Her creativity and gentle encouragement filled their childhoods with wonder, and those memories will always be among her family's most cherished gifts. Sandy also found peace and happiness in her winter home in Longboat Key, Florida, a place where she shared countless cherished moments with her family.

Family and friends will be welcomed on Tuesday, November 18, from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m., at LAUGHLIN CREMATION AND FUNERAL TRIBUTES, 222 Washington Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15216, where a short Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Pitt, http://giveto.pitt.edu/osher

Sandy will be deeply missed by all who knew her, and remembered always with love, gratitude, and an enduring sense of the many ways she made the world more beautiful.
