McMAHON

SHARON A.

Age 75, of Shaler Township, formerly of Garfield, passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2026, after a brief illness. Born on August 5, 1950, in Pittsburgh, she remained a proud Pittsburgher throughout her life. Beloved sister of Colleen Rodgers, Susan Thorn, and Patricia (Ken) Anthony; also survived by many nephews and cousins. Sharon was a 1972 Duquesne University graduate, graduating from the School of Nursing. She began her career serving in the United States Navy as a registered nurse, obtaining the rank of lieutenant. She was very proud of her military service and was always honored to be a veteran. Following her active service, she continued her commitment to caring for other veterans at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, devoting 20 years of service. One of Sharon's favorite memories was an unforgettable Alaskan cruise with her fellow nursing coworkers, a trip she cherished for the friendships and experiences it provided. A lifelong Pittsburgh sports fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates and Penguins. She treasured her nephews, found fulfillment in her lifelong nursing career, and remained steadfast in her faith throughout her life. She will be remembered for her dedication to her country, her patients, and her family and the values she carried with grace and dignity throughout her life. Everyone is invited to attend a funeral Mass at Christ the King Parish, St. Joseph Church, on Friday, July 24, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Memorial contributions can be made in Sharon's name to Brother Andres Cafe, 164 Washington Place, Pittsburgh, PA 15219, or A Child's Way, 5324 Penn Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15224. Arrangements by the WALTER J. ZALEWSKI FUNERAL HOME, Lawrenceville.
