SHERGILL

SIKHENDER S.

It is with heavy hearts and great sorrow that we announce the passing of Sikhender Singh Shergill, affectionately known as Kenny, who left us on June 30, 2025, in Pittsburgh, PA, at the age of 24.

On Monday, May 7, 2001, a beautiful baby boy was born with a bright and shining smile who instantly brought joy to the lives of his parents, Kultar and Syeda Shergill; and his sister, Amber. Kenny was a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend, whose memory will be forever treasured. He was loved by family and friends all around the world in the UK, Toronto, Texas, San Francisco, Washington D.C., New York, Vancouver, Pakistan, India, China, Italy, Kenya, Portugal, and so many more.

Kenny was a kind, wise, sensitive, and quietly thoughtful young man. Indicative of his brave and curious nature, he chose to move to England to attend Business School at Brunel University of London. He recently graduated, inspiring great pride in himself and his family. He was creative and loved bringing new ideas to life, whether it was painting, poetry, music, or innovative business concepts. He was a truly talented and passionate soccer player. He earned varsity letters and served as team captain at Shady Side Academy, and also competed at a high level with Arsenal Football Club of Pittsburgh. He helped lead his teams to city and state championships. Kenny had a genuine enthusiasm for volunteerism and that passion lead him to embark on a mission trip to Kenya with his mother to improve the lives of children. His interests and passions were diverse and impactful. He put his all into everything he did which led him to the successes which his family were immensely proud of.

His accomplishments reflected his dedication and focus, and his time abroad helped shape the thoughtful, curious, and worldly young man he became. Though Kenny's life ended far too soon, his impact remains. He will be remembered for his gentle nature, sharp mind, witty humor, and the love he gave so freely to everyone who was lucky enough to know him

Family and friends will gather for the following services to honor Kenny's life:

The viewing will take place on Friday, July 4, 2025, from 2:00-7:00 PM, at BEINHAUER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, in Dormont, 2630 West Liberty Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15216. The memorial service will take place on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at the same location. The service will be led by Gyani Sacha Singh Ji. A prayer service will follow at the Pittsburgh Gurdwara Tri State Sikh Cultural Society, 4407 McKenzie Drive, Monroeville, PA 15146.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to National Alliance on Mental Illness.

Kenny's life was a gift. While his time with us was brief, his journey was courageous, the love he gave and the memories he created will be everlasting.
