After a long and intense six year battle with cancer, Lou succumbed on August 6, 2025. He was born on May 20, 1948 in Lawrenceville, to Stanley and Helen Gorski, who were responsible for shaping his character. Further attendance at Catholic schools continued his training and moral code. After graduating from Central Catholic, he pursued a degree in Political Science. Afterward, he continued with a Master in Public Administration. Both degrees were obtained from the University of Pittsburgh. His next venture was attending Duquesne University, where he received a Juris Doctor.



During his time at Pitt, he was commissioned a second lieutenant in the Army and procured a slot in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard, where he spent enjoyable and productive years. He retired as a Major.



After graduation, he became the Borough Manager for Dormont, where he encountered a wide range of challenges and decided to stay 14 years.



In 1990, he was chosen to become the Executive Director of the South Hills Area Council of Governments (SHACOG) and worked for 35 years on various projects interfacing with various municipalities, police, firemen, public works etc. etc. etc.



Lou is survived by June, his wife of 41 years, several cousins; and a sister, Marianne Adamczyk (Joe); and sister-in-law, Beverly and Joe LaManna. The list also includes two nieces and a nephew. Family and friends received at the WALTER J. ZALEWSKI FUNERAL HOME, 216 44th Street, 15201, on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, from 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. Traditional Latin Mass will be offered on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at 9:30 a.m., at Most Precious Blood of Jesus, 3250 California Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15212. Burial to follow at St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
