STEPHEN R.
Stephen R. Borecky, Ph.D., age 77, of Bethel Park, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2026. Beloved husband of 38 years to Catherine "Cathy" Borecky. Loving father of Michael A. Hennessy. Beloved son of the late Stephen W. and Mary (Dora) Borecky. Loving brother of Mary Jo (Michael) Picklo. Cherished uncle of Jennifer Picklo, Dr. Jessica (Bill Sheets) Picklo, and Juliann Picklo. Dr. Borecky was a professor of anatomy and physiology at Carlow University for 47 years and was a devoted husband, father, and teacher. He loved his late Golden Retrievers and is survived by his beloved cats, Jazmine, Jax, and Jadzia. Family and friends are welcome to attend a Mass of Christian burial on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., in St. Thomas More Church, Resurrection Parish, 126 Fort Couch Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15241. A Celebration of Life will be held immediately following Mass in the Family Life Center in the church (please bring your favorite "Dr. B" story to share). Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be made to Animal Friends, 562 Camp Horne Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15237.
