STEVEN A.

Devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Steven A. Kraycar III, 77, of Murrysville, PA, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Formerly of Whitaker, he was the son of the late Steven and Alice Kraycar. Steve was a graduate of West Virginia Institute of Technology, where he studied engineering and industrial management. During his time at Tech, he was a proud member of the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity and cherished the friendships he formed with his fraternity brothers.

His career spanned 55 years. He began at Westinghouse and retired as a vice president at Kawasaki Rail Car, Inc. Throughout the years, he traveled the world serving as a program manager for numerous mass transit projects across five continents. One of the highlights of his career was helping to bring the inaugural people mover at Pittsburgh International Airport to life in the 1990s. He loved to work and would talk about "propulsion" to anyone who would listen. He was admired by all for his strong work ethic, which he instilled in his children and the many people he mentored.

He loved all Pittsburgh sports and was always known to have the game on and know the score. He also enjoyed movies and television and could answer almost every question on Jeopardy!, his favorite show. In retirement, Steve loved riding his tractor, working around his yard, planting flowers, and maintaining his pool. He was also present for all of his grandchildren's events.

Steve is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Camilla, who stood by his side through every season of life; his three daughters and their spouses, Jessica (John), Melanie (Cesare), and Stefanie (Shawn); and his adored grandchildren, Bailey, Reese, Marcello, Campbell, Luca, and Bennett; and many lifelong friends.

His love of his children was immeasurable, and he never missed an opportunity to tell others how proud he was of them. Steve was always smiling and had a kind greeting for everyone he met. He will be deeply missed by everyone.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a cause close to his heart, St. Jude Children's Hospital-Memorial Giving, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at Bash-Nied Funeral Home, 152 Abbe Place, Delmont. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 31, 2026, at Denmark Manor UCC, 2003 Denmark Manor Road, Export, PA 15632. Interment will follow at Denmark Manor Cemetery, Delmont.
