TERRI LEIGH (GRANCEY)

On Saturday, April 18, 2026, Terri Leigh (Grancey) Haupt, of Bellevue, formerly of Clearfield, passed away at the age of 62. Daughter of the late Thomas Andrew and Mary Ann (Hilgert) Grancey; beloved wife of James Haupt; loving mother of Joshua Daniel (Kylie), Stephen Christopher (Kathryn), David Jonathan, Matthew James (Emily) and Samuel Benjamin Haupt; sister of Thomas Jr., Gary, Paul (Ann Michelle), Susan (Randy Anderson), and the late David and late Joseph Grancey; grandmother of Teigan and Emerson, Elyas and Aviendah, Amelia, Wesley, Calvin and Lionel; also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, and other loving family, friends, and neighbors.

Defying her high school guidance counselors' expectations, Terri graduated from the Physical Therapy program at the University of Pittsburgh in 1985. Terri's first college roommate could have told those counselors that they severely underestimated her hardheaded stubbornness when she had a goal in mind!

After she obtained her physical therapy license, she worked at different times for Easter Seals, the DT Watson Institute, and then later for The Early Learning Institute (TELI) (formerly St Peters child development). She had a heart for the children in the most difficult of situations - spina bifida, cerebral palsy, and other developmental disorders. She was a caring and motivated physical therapist, always looking to learn more to care for her patients.

Terri was blessed with 5 children of her own and was a loving mother and wife.

She spent many hours caring for her family. She knitted many amazing sweaters and cooked delicious foods, including wonderful homemade pizzas, nut rolls and pierogi.

After 17 years of marriage, when the youngest of her 5 children was 4 years old, she suffered a Grand Mal seizure. This led to the discovery of a brain tumor, which necessitated two brain surgeries, chemo and radiation. She was originally diagnosed with Glioblastoma MF - later revised to Astrocytoma grade 4. With the grace of God, she recovered and went 15 years before recurrence. She asked the doctors why it came back. They told her that's not the question that they were asking. They were wondering why or how it stayed in remission for an unheard-of length of time. Some doctors openly said it was a miracle that it hadn't come back sooner. (Some have pointed to another story of 15 'bonus years' found in 2 Kings 20 of the Bible). It recurred in 2022 and was inoperable. In 2023 she was told 6-12 months was a reasonable assumption for her life expectancy. She made it 34

months (and more than 38 years of marriage and motherhood) before succumbing.

She endured with a cheerful spirit, patience, and great discipline. Her fellow PT's who were now treating her were impressed with her dedication. Her faith and Love for the Lord was what sustained her and her witness of faith blessed all who knew her.
