THOMAS EDWARD

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away unexpectedly, on June 29, 2025, at the age of 72, in his hometown of Pittsburgh, PA. Born on March 28, 1953, son of the late Michael and Mary Theresa Figel. Thomas lived a full life, having spent many years as a Steelworker for U.S. Steel, and then later as a Corrections Officer in the law enforcement industry.

He will be deeply missed by his devoted wife, Mary "Kathy" Figel, whom he married on April 19, 1975. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Susan Figel and Thomas Jr. and were proud grandparents to Michael and Scarlett. Thomas's love and guidance left an indelible mark on their lives.

Thomas was preceded in death by his brother, Lawrence Figel, who shared in countless memories. His kindness and warm spirit were felt by all who knew him, creating lasting relationships forged through genuine care and respect. He was able to make friends with everyone he met, and his genuine and sincere nature endeared him to all who had the opportunity to know him. His loyalty to both his family and friends defined who he was.

Family and friends are welcome on Wednesday from 2-4, 6-8 p.m., at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 806 Perry Hwy., North Hills. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, at 10 a.m., at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, St. Teresa of Avila Church.

Thomas Edward Figel, Sr. will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family and friends. As he journeys into eternal rest, may his spirit continue to inspire us all to love deeply and live fully.
