BANKSON

THOMAS EDWIN

Age 74, of Pittsburgh, on Friday, January 3, 2025. Son of the late Ellis Edwin Bankson and the late Virginia Brown Bankson; beloved husband of 51 years to Linda Thiessen Bankson; cherished father of Katherine Bankson, Lynn Bankson and Andrew (Dr. Mamie Thant) Bankson; grandfather of Thida and Aindra Bankson; brother of Joan Bankson Procopio and the late Allen Bankson; brother-in-law of Linwood (Judy) Thiessen, Paul (Susan) Thiessen and Daniel (Amanda) Thiessen; also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Tom was a 1968 graduate of Shadyside Academy, and 1972 graduate of Lehigh University. He was a civil engineer, and president, and partner of Bankson Engineers, Inc. (a firm that was started by his father and grandfather). Tom was active in his church and community, most recently with Circles at Roots of Faith, in Sharpsburg. He loved singing in the church choir with his wife, playing games with his friends, and visiting his grandchildren. He and Linda enjoyed traveling throughout their life together, but especially traveling extensively with friends and family since his retirement. He loved to spend his time reading, following current events and politics, and spending time with family. Tom was a very kind and generous person to everyone and will be greatly missed.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 2 PM, followed by a memorial service at 3 PM, at Faith United Methodist Church, 261 W. Chapel Ridge Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15238. Arrangements entrusted to ENGLISH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 378 Maryland Ave., Oakmont, PA 15139.
