THOMAS J.
Age 85, of Ross, succumbed to ALS and Parkinson's after a two-year struggle with the diseases, on December 23, 2025.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Kathleen Ross Nega; his daughters, Susan (Tim) Walker and Gretchen (Rodger) Cahill; and his stepson, Matthew (Mariah) Miller. His grandchildren, Liam, Garrett, Shai, Echo and Knox, brought great joy to his life. Brother of Patricia Micholas of Buffalo, NY.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman and owned a camp in Meadville with his best friend, Ted Paulovich. His ultimate trophy was a grizzly bear shot in Alaska. He also enjoyed working on classic cars and trucks.
He was a fourth and fifth grade teacher for 31 years in the Gateway School District, Monroeville, who was well-liked by his students.
Tom was a graduate of Freeport High School and of Clarion University where he got his degree in elementary education.
Visitation, Saturday, December 27, 2- 5 p.m., at NEELY FUNERAL HOME, 2208 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw, PA 15116.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the ALS Association or the Michael J. Fox Research group for Parkinson's.
