THOMAS MARTIN HAROLD

Age 57, of Forest Hills, PA, passed away peacefully, on April 27, 2026, surrounded by family and friends. Tom was born on July 7, 1968, in Pittsburgh, PA. He was the beloved son of Marcella and the late Harold Seward Link. Tom is survived by his brother, Michael (Lisa) Link; sisters, Theresa (Jerome) Borchers, Judith (John) Oliver and Sarah Link; along with nine nieces and nephews and 11 great-nieces and nephews.

Though his life was cut short, Tom lived fully and deeply. He was a lifelong learner and natural thinker, embracing a wide range of passions, which he enthusiastically shared.

He was known for his curiosity, humor, and meaningful connections.

Family was important to Tom. Learning about his history, sharing stories, celebrating milestones, and supporting loved ones were all devotions throughout his life. In recent years he assisted with the care of his mother, taking time to visit, and doing anything he could for her.

Tom formed lasting friendships, from his early neighborhood adventures to his college circle, the Zets, and beyond. He continued to find more of his people in local groups such as Ecstatic Dance and The Pittsburgh Healing Community, where he was known as a compassionate listener and attentive friend.

His moral code was clear. Tom served his community as an Eagle Scout, an altar server, and a certified EMT with Emergency Rescue 8 in Forest Hills. A graduate of Central Catholic, he carried strong values throughout his life.

Tom discovered his passion for technology early, exploring electronics, and later studying computer science at the University of Pittsburgh. He helped revive the Pitt Amateur Radio Club and contributed to WPTS, where he remained involved for years, developing the streaming system and serving on its advisory board. His professional career in computing was both impactful and respected.

Tom's presence leaves a lasting void. He will be deeply missed.

Family and friends are welcome on Thursday, May 7, 2026, from 2-8 p.m., at LAUGHLIN CREMATION AND FUNERAL TRIBUTES, 222 Washington Road, Mount Lebanon, PA 15216. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, at St. Michael the Arch Angel Parish - St. Bernard Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tom's name to the Cancer research organization of your choice.
