On April 12, 2026, Thomas Ordons, 77, of McCandless Township, passed away unexpectedly. Beloved husband of 48 years to Joan D. Ordons.



In addition to his wife, Tom is survived by his devoted children, Lauren (John) Richmond, Steven (Dana) Ordons, Ellen (Noah) Petronic, and Kevin (Brianna) Ordons; his brother, Daniel (Chris) Ordons; and he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jerrold and Allen Ordons; and his parents, Frank and Maxine. He was the proud and loving grandfather (PapPap) of Elizabeth, Jack, Charlotte, Sylvia, Owen, Nora, Cecilia, Lucy, and Clara.



Tom was born in Sewickley, PA, in 1948 and graduated from Clarion University in 1972. He served for six years in the US Army Reserve. Tom worked for Mellon Bank for 40 years. Tom is best known for his deep love of the outdoors and the active lifestyle he lived. He is well-known as a long-time member of the Explorers Club of Pittsburgh and the Three Rivers Paddling Club. He was an avid cyclist, skier, and outdoorsman and participated in numerous climbing/paddling trips, charity cycling rides, and ski adventures with friends and family. In recent years, Tom most enjoyed cycling, skiing, and "rehydration" afterwards with craft beer and friends. He will be remembered for his energy, kindness, and dedication to his family and friends.



Friends will be received on Thursday, from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m., at SIMONS FUNERAL HOME, INC., 7720 Perry Highway, where a memorial service will be held on Friday, at 2:00 p.m.



In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Tom's memory to the organizations he supported through his outdoor endeavors, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or the Pittsburgh Regional Trail Corporation.
