THOMAS P. HOWE, JR. Obituary
HOWE, JR.
THOMAS P.
Age 83, of McMurray, born and raised in Mt. Oliver, peacefully passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2026, with family by his side. Beloved husband of the late Joan Howe; loving father of Heather, Michael, and Courtney Howe; caring brother of Susie Ingold, Eileen Howe, and Mary Howe; caring son of the late Thomas P. and Mildred Howe.
Thomas was a graduate of St. Joseph's High School, Duquesne University, and Texas Tech University, where he earned a master's degree.
He served proudly in the United States Marine Corps as an artillery officer during the Vietnam War and later continued his service in the Marine Reserves. Following his military service, he pursued his education and began a career in financial services.
Thomas deeply valued time with family and friends. He was an enthusiastic supporter of the Pittsburgh Steelers, never shy about cheering them on or voicing his opinions during games. He also enjoyed reading and spending time in quiet reflection.
A man of strong Catholic faith, Thomas was active in his church community at St. Benedict the Abbot, where he volunteered regularly. He helped establish the Society of St. Vincent de Paul at his parish, dedicating himself to assisting those in need.
He was especially committed to supporting fellow veterans, working to ensure they received the recognition and respect they deserved. For many years, he also volunteered at the VFW in McMurray, assisting with bingo events and community activities.
Thomas will be remembered as a proud United States Marine: patriotic, loyal, dependable, and deeply committed to his faith, his family, and his community.
The Howe family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at the VA home health program and Kane Regional Center-Scott Township. A special thanks to Karlie at AHN Hospice for the exceptional care, kindness, and unwavering support shown to both Thomas and his family during this difficult time. Your dedication, comfort, and compassion will never be forgotten.
