REITLINGER

THOMAS REGIS

Age 87, of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away on November 11, 2024. Born on February 21, 1937, Thomas was known for his outgoing and adventurous spirit, often lightening the mood with his pranks and silly stories.

Thomas' greatest accomplishment was falling in love with and marrying his wife of 65 years, Theresa Reitlinger. He is survived by his wife, Theresa; children, John Reitlinger, Lisa (Mark, deceased) Cinna, Richard Reitlinger, and Michelle Reitlinger; brother, James (Nancy) Reitlinger; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Alberta Reitlinger; and his daughter, Carol Heinz.

Thomas graduated from North Catholic High School, and proudly served in the U.S. Navy for two years active duty on the USS Yellowstone AD27 and ten years active reserves, attaining the rank of Petty Officer 2nd class. With an associate's degree in accounting from Robert Morris University he continued his career in various management positions in the Industrial Supply field.

Thomas' hobbies were as vibrant and varied as his personality, including bowling, poker, fishing, and traveling with his family, especially the 13 cruises. He reveled in volunteering at St. Theresa's flea market, youth and community sports for the Perry Athletic Association, and various North Hills High School clubs. His dedication to service extended to volunteering with the Ross Township Fire Police for over two decades and being a founding sponsor of The Flight 93 Memorial in Shanksville, PA.

Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, St. Teresa of Avila Church, with Rev. John Rushofsky officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Thomas can be made to the Vietnam Veterans of America, honoring his commitment to fellow veterans and his country. Thomas' legacy of joy, service, and community involvement will be cherished and remembered by all who knew him.
