THOMAS W. BROSKEY Obituary
BROSKEY
THOMAS W.
With heavy hearts and endless gratitude for the time we shared, we said goodbye to our beloved father, grandfather and friend, Thomas W. Broskey Sr., on Wednesday, March 26, 2025. Born in Millvale, PA on February 9, 1941, he was the youngest of 11 children to Mary and Anthony Broskey.
At just 13 years old, he met the love of his life, Lynda (Goebel) and from that moment on, they built a life filled with love, laughter and unwavering devotion. Married for 63 years, they were truly inseparable, always holding hands and are now together once more.
Dad's greatest joy was being the proud father of Thomas Jr. (Josephine), Lisa (Russell) Weaver and Steven (Barb); and being an amazing Pappy to Jason, Jagger, Madelynn, Callan, Alexander and Tyler; and great-grandson, Joseph. He was the father and grandfather who showed up for everything—big or small—cheering the loudest and loving the hardest.
For decades, Dad worked as a sheet metal foreman before taking the leap to build Broskey Custom Metal. He poured his heart into his work, but his true passions were found in growing his incredible gardens, racing homing pigeons, metal detecting and serving his community. He was very proud of serving as the North Hills School District's School Board President, where he fought for what he believed in and made a lasting impact.
After marrying Lynda, they settled in North Hills and never left, creating a home full of warmth, wisdom and more love than words can capture. He is now reunited with her in heaven, walking hand-in-hand with their granddaughter, Emily Ida. Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing they are together again.
Dad's legacy is one of love, resilience and dedication to his family. He is the amazing and generous man that everyone loved. He is already missed beyond words and will be remembered with every garden we plant, every bird taking flight, and every story we tell over and over of the incredible man who we were blessed to call Dad. Rest easy, Dad.
In the spirit of celebrating Tom's remarkable life, friends and family are invited to gather on Saturday, March 29, from 3-7 p.m., and Sunday, March 30, from 1-5 p.m., at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, located at 806 Perry Hwy., Pittsburgh, PA 15237.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 31, at 10 a.m., in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, St. Teresa of Avila Church, 800 Avila Ct., Pittsburgh, PA 15237.
