TOM

Tom Hotopp, age 83, passed away on March 23, 2025, with family by his side. He was born on June 29, 1941, in Wilmington, DE.

Tom was a graduate of the University of Notre Dame, and remained a loyal and avid fan of all things Irish. He also earned an MBA from Stanford University. Tom had a high energy for life, a positive outlook, and was a beloved and involved husband, brother, father, and grandfather. Nothing gave him greater joy than skiing with his grandchildren in Colorado and watching them participate in sports and theater activities.

Tom enjoyed reading, playing tennis, paddle tennis, golf, skiing, and traveling with his family. Loyal friends and his family remember his witty sense of humor, willingness to try anything once, and that he always supported those he loved, especially when it was most needed.

Tom was an active member of the St. Mary of the Assumption Parish in Glenshaw, PA. He was a dedicated member of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra Board of Trustees and volunteered his time as a Board member with Goodwill, Fox Chapel Raquet Club, and Longue Vue Country Club. He had a successful career as an executive with Corning, Inc., Kingston-Warren, and MSA Safety, where he was a former President and Board Member.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carol and Leonard Hotopp; and his son, Patrick. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dona; his sister, Diane Holden; his daughter, Tara (Bob); his daughter, Megan (Pete); and grandchildren, Tommy, Danny, Jack and Grace.

Visitation will be held at the NEELY FUNERAL HOME, 2208 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw, PA 15116, on Monday, March 31, 2025, from 6-8 pm, and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at 10:30 am, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, St. Mary's Church at 2510 Middle Rd., Glenshaw, PA 15116.

The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations in his name be made to the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, or Catholic Charities.
