VIOLA MARGARET "VI"

Viola Margaret "Vi" Eichner, 89, of McCandless, died peacefully and gracefully of natural causes, after an acute illness, on Thursday, April 10, 2025, in residence at the Wexford Healthcare Center. She happily joined her late husband, Richard, in eternal rest, nearly four-and-a-half years after his passing. Daughter of the late Herman and Viola (Koenig) Brimmeier, she was the widow of the proprietor of Eichner's Family Farm, Richard A. "Dick" Eichner, to whom she was married for 65 years. Pittsburgh-born, Vi was raised in both Millvale and Laurel Gardens, and was a graduate of St. Benedict's Academy. She moved to "rural" Wexford upon marriage in 1955, and joined the Eichner's Family Farm business, where she worked the rest of her life with exceptional dedication, perseverance and integrity.

A founding member of St. Alexis Parish, Vi was very proud of her Catholic faith, her family, and the happy parade of customers who she greeted daily at the farm and entertained with detailed stories of family history. An accomplished cookie baker, gardener and greenhouse manager, she was proud of her assistance in developing the greenhouse facilities and nurturing the sales market that the Eichner's Family Farm still manages today. Throughout the years, she delighted in planting flowers around the original St. Alexis Church to provide the building with the "special colors" it so deserved. Also, Vi enjoyed the personal deliveries she made alongside Dick, after business hours, as they crisscrossed the North Hills and North Side with farm-fresh eggs, hams, and flowers for customers who couldn't reach the Wexford Flats. Following Dick's passing in December of 2020, Vi remarked every day how much she missed the love of her life, who guided and protected her throughout their married life.

Dedicated to her family and the Blessed Mother, Vi was particularly fond of all adorations related to Mary, drawing strength and guidance from Mary's example. As such, she was very active in the Guild of Christian Mothers at St. Alexis. She always acknowledged her place as a servant of the Lord and strived to live a simple life on this earth. Fittingly, her eternal life comes at the start of Holy Week.

Vi was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Arthur Brimmeier. She is survived by her brother, Herman Brimmeier (Lori); and a large extended family. Vi was the loving mother of Ronald Eichner, Donald Eichner (Carole), Gary Eichner (Ken Burk), and Diane Eichner Gliozzi (Dominic); proud grandmother to Michelle Eichner Stewart (Michael), Daniel Eichner (Arianne), Teresa Eichner (Brian Kerr), Richard Gliozzi (Kayla), Michael Gliozzi (Megan), Rachel Gliozzi (Mike Rodgers), and Emily Eichner; great-grandmother to Raymond Stewart, Belle Stewart, and Georgia Stewart, along with Liliana Daniels, Eero Eichner, and Vincent Gliozzi. Also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements are coordinated by the SCHELLHAAS & SONS FUNERAL HOME (FRANKLIN PARK), 1600 Stone Mansion Drive, Sewickley, PA 15143. Visitation will take place Sunday, April 13, 2025, from 2-8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Alexis Church (of St. Aidan Parish), 10090 Old Perry Highway, Wexford, PA, on Monday, April 14, 2025, at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in Christ our Redeemer Catholic Cemetery, Ross Township. All are welcome to attend and join in the celebration of Vi's life. The extended Eichner family also expresses the utmost in gratitude to all friends, caregivers, medical personnel, and prayer warriors who assisted the family during Vi's time of need.
