VITO J.

Age 93, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2025. Born in Pittsburgh on November 14, 1931, Vito was the 11th child of Giovanni and Rosa (Machi) Alioto.

Vito is survived by his loving wife of almost 66 years Mary (Prodente) Alioto, daughter Roseann (David) Funyak, sons Rick and Tom (Amy) Alioto. Proud grandfather to Nick (Kirstie) Funyak, Dana, Mike Funyak, Emilie (fiancé Kerem Caglayan), Daniel, and Courtney Alioto, and great-grandfather to Merryn and Thea Funyak. Additionally, he is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Vito was a proud member of the ISDA and Amity Lodge.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 6-8 PM and Friday, August 29, 2025, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at SCHELLHAAS FUNERAL HOME, 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown, PA 15007.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 9:30 AM at Sts. Martha and Mary Parish - St. Catherine of Sweden Church, 2554 Wildwood Road, Allison Park, PA 15101.

Entombment will follow at Christ Our Redeemer, Northside Catholic Cemetery.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Vito's caretakers at The Province of Wexford and Vitas Healthcare.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Tunnel to Towers, or the Italian Sons and Daughters of America Scholarship Fund.
